Gears Photoshop Tutorial Page 1

This is the third addition to the interface tutorials, in this one I will teach you how to make a good gear. Ever want to make a gear for you r interface, but you just cant make the right shape? in this tutorial I will show you how to make a good looking gear, without any pre-made shapes.

First open a new file in Photoshop, make the background black, and on a new layer, make a white rectangle, around the same size as the one below. Size will vary depending on how big you want your gear to be.

Now duplicate your layer with the white rectangle, and on your new layer, rotate your duplicated rectangle so it makes a cross shape. T do with go to edit>transform>rotate Then use your mouse to turn it.

Now duplicate the layer again, and rotate your new rectangle to make the shape below.
