Glow Earth with night map

Hi friends. You will learn how to create some very nice Earth scene like on image below. We will create Glow Earth using nigh map. Let’s begin

First you need is night map/texture of Earth. You can download from link below.

First create GeoSphere and rename it to “Earth”

Open Material Editor by pressing M, select emty material and call him Earth_mat. In the Shadow Basic Parameters set Oren-Nayar-Blin.
In Oren-Nayar-Blin Basic Parameters fields Self Illumination check color, and set Roughness 100

Scroll down to the Maps and add earth_night map to the Diffuse and Bump slot. Set amount for the Bump 15.

Next to do is to add mask map to Self Illumination slot. Best to understand this is to see the picture below. Click to enlarge

From TOP view create two omni light and move like on picture below.

Omni Light1
Set multiplier to 1. Then scroll down to Advanced Effect and set parameters like on picture below.

Omni Light2
Set multiplier to 1.1. Then scroll down to Advanced Effect and set parameters like on picture below.

That is all my friends. Now you can press F9 and Render. You can add stars background and experiment with scene like you want.
